🤷🏽‍♂️Who are they?

Casecoach is a market leading E-learning platform that helps users prepare for all aspects of consulting interviews in places like McKinsey, BCG & Bain.

🕵🏽‍♀️What they wanted:

CaseCoach provides a number of practice content and features: courses, a case library, a practice room, practice drills, and coaching.

This can be overwhelming for their users, who don’t know where to start, what to prioritize, and how to progress toward their goals.

To address this and respond to their client's demands, our clients wanted to develop a dashboard that will help their users plan their preparation and understand what to do next.

🥷🏽The challenge:

The dashboard would be a complex page pulling in a lot of data that would be loaded by the users very often. It would be fast and be updated in real time based on the user’s activities. Here are a few challenges I faced while designing :

🧟‍♂️ The targeted users:

Casecoach’s targeted users would be individuals who are seeking to develop the skills & knowledge necessary to succeed in consulting interviews. They may have certain challenges including:

👨🏽‍🔬The solution:

I began my process by sketching wireframes on paper and then on figma. My thinking process right now was to arrange elements based on heirarchy. My first few designs were not so great & needed a couple of iterations before I could come up with something neat.

The left side of the panel would show most of the performance metrics & progress bars for all the different practice contents: drills, sessions & coaching. Users get notified on upcoming classes & access to book seats so that they don’t miss out. I’ve shared my initial design below. It wasn’t great but it brought me closer to something better that I would find later.
